WHAT IS NOTARY CERTIFIED TRANSLATION?
Many official institutions, whether in Turkey or overseas, ask for notary certification on the documents that have been translated. In case of such need, the documents that are translated by the translators that possess the certificate of oath in the notary public office of Republic of Turkey, which will certify/attest the translation, should be certified by that relevant notary public.
However, notary certification is no longer a requirement for certain documents thanks to the recent regulations. Consequently, we recommend our customers to obtain further information on this subject from the relevant authorities before the translation.
WHAT IS APOSTILLE ATTESTATION?
Apostil attestation is a confirmation that a document is a true document and the signature belongs to an official in order that such document can be safely used overseas. Certain documents that you have received domestically or that you will send overseas have to pass such attestation.
Apostille attestation is provided by the provincial and district governor offices of the Republic of Turkey. For the documents to be obtained overseas, information should be obtained from the relevant authorities of the country in question.
While apostille attestation can be obtained after translation and notary certification, it can also be obtained before such procedures thanks to the recent regulations. Consequently, we recommend our customers to obtain further information on this subject from the relevant authorities before the translation.
